He is later revealed to be a character who came to life and claims to be Jack’s non-existent brother, having given Jack his writing career. His name is a nickname, short for “turkey.”
Amos: Turk’s broad shouldered, perpetually rumpled longtime partner and closest friend in the police force. He attempts to stop Turk’s unapproved, rogue investigation of Collin Stuart.
Jack: The author of the successful Turk book series, who is determined to kill off the character Turk to pursue other writing projects. He is later pulled into the reality of the world he created for Turk.
Karen: Jack’s wife, who is initially concerned about his decision to kill off the popular character Turk.
Caleb Wright: Jack’s publisher, who is financially concerned about Jack’s plan to end the Turk series.
Collin Stuart: A businessman whom Turk is obsessed with proving assaulted and killed his daughter.
Malinda: A character Jack created, who has been a constant platonic presence in Turk’s world since his first stories about the character. She is the one who picks up Jack when he is transported to Turk’s world.
Turk’s world: The fictional world Jack built around the character Turk, which the character Turk inhabits and into which the author, Jack, is transported.
