Characters of Writer’s World

The Written World (The Turk Series)

These characters originate from the detective novel series written by Jack, but take on a terrifying new reality.

Turk

A detective and the main character of the successful book series. He is a wiry man with short cropped dark hair and a jagged scar on his tanned face. He is Amos’s longtime partner.

Key Action
To prevent Jack from killing him off in the final book, he manifests in the real world, kidnaps his creator (Jack), and forces him into the world of the novel.

Amos

Turk’s longtime partner and closest friend. He is broad shouldered and perpetually rumpled.

Key Action
He attempts to stop Turk from going rogue and committing murder. He is fatally shot by Collin Stuart during a confrontation.

Malinda

A character from Turk’s world who works for a newspaper. Jack created her with an unwavering moral compass.

Key Action
She is one of the first victims in a series of targeted attacks in Turk’s world, killed by a bomb.

Collin Stuart

A businessman Turk obsessively believes is responsible for the death of his daughter.

Key Action
He shoots and kills Amos, but is then violently strangled and killed by Turk.

Oryon (The Assassin)

A killer who appears to be hunting the characters in Turk’s world, seen at the scene of every character’s death.

Key Action
He kills Malinda with a bomb. He later fights Jack, who manages to defeat him.

The Author’s World

These characters originate in the real world, but become intertwined with the fictional one.

Jack

The author of the bestselling Turk book series, who writes in a sterile, white walled office. He is married to Karen and has a child, Corey.

Key Relationship
He is the creator of Turk’s world and is revealed to be based on Turk’s “brother” that was lost to a miscarriage and then created in his writing.

Karen

Jack’s wife and mother of their child, Corey.

Key Relationship
She is a source of support for Jack, but remains unaware and skeptical of the bizarre, supernatural events occurring.

Caleb Wright

Jack’s publisher.

Key Relationship
He is concerned over Jack’s creative decision to kill off the popular Turk character due to the large amount of money the series brings the company.
